“The Rim” is a series of painting and poetry workshops where the region’s forests, mountains, rivers, creeks and fauna to speak, through the creativity of everyday people.
The project is led by a team of Scenic Rim regional artists – nature painter Dave Groom from Binna Burra, geological painter John Jackson from Boonah, and writer and poet Sally MacKinnon from Beechmont.
During Birdweek, they will guide the the creation of a giant community fabric painting to celebrate the birds, landscapes and geology of the Scenic Rim. This hands-on painting project needs no prior experience and all ages are welcome to participate. Inspiring regional poet and writer Sally MacKinnon will also work with visitors and guests to craft words, poems and stories that speak of our regional landscapes and birds through fun creative writing processes.
Come for 5 minutes or 5 hours! All equipment is supplied.
