Omega Cluster

This photo was taken by Peter Hegarty   (a recent guest) on the 4th and 5th of May 2010. Beautiful picture of the night sky! 

“The object, Omega Centauri, is the largest globular cluster in our galaxy and is mainly a southern hemisphere target and is easily seen from the dark skies at Mt Barney Lodge. A very easy target for binoculars.

Some believe it is itself a dwarf galaxy………”
