Mt Barney Lodge has received a TripAdvisor®  Certificate of Excellence award. The accolade, which honours hospitality excellence, is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on TripAdvisor.  Only the top-performing 10 per cent of businesses listed on TripAdvisor receive this prestigious award.

It is a little bit like the Logies – as ratings and comments from the public are what qualifies the property. Businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travellers on TripAdvisor, and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months. Additional criteria include the volume of reviews received within the last 12 months.

“Wonderful Camping/Adventure Location”

Reviewed June 28, 2013 NEW

Just had a fantastic 5 days of camping and adventures at this wonderful place.
We were in two minds to go winter camping with little kids, but I'm glad we made the effort as this campground is excellent. It is spacious, with plenty of grass and well positioned fire pits.
The staff have many activities for families to keep everyone entertained, or you can just relax by the wonderful creek.
And it's only 90min from Brisbane!

A group of 8 friends including myself stayed in Forresters hut recently,as we were climbing Mt Barney. The campgrounds are beautifully kept with spotless amenities including toilet/shower block. The setting, with Mount Barney in plain view just cannot be beaten.Forresters hut itself was perfect for our needs. The kitchen is well stocked with plates, crockery, fridge microwave and oven.Lovely big dining table and cosy fireplace which was heavenly. We had a wonderful weekend and couldn't find fault with anything.Owners of this place should be proud.Thank you.

“Can't wait to come back for a third visit”

Reviewed April 28, 2013

I spent the weekend at Mt Barney Lodge Country Retreat as part of a group of very enthusiastic photographers. We could not have had better weather nor scenery for practising new skills in photography. What made the weekend workshop even better was the accommodation in Moringararah Homestead (the original homestead on the property) and the excellent lunches and dinner prepared by Tracey and her helpers. Like the first visit on a similar weekend in October 2012, Innes and Tracey were very enthisiastic about our efforts at photographing in and around their property and added a lot of information to go with what we captured.

Tracey needs to give everyone her recipe for Orange and Poppy Seed cake after we all had at least 2 helpings for morning tea.

For a group of friends or a group doing a workshop of any type I cannot recommend this place highly enough and it is only 1.5 hours from Brisbane but a million miles away.
