Not too many camping grounds can boast creek frontage, breath- taking mountain views, space around you and your own camp site.
All this and more is waiting for you at the Mt Barney Lodge camping grounds, just 90 minutes drive away from Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
Everyone who checks in at Mt Barney Lodge cannot believe that a place of such beauty and tranquillity has remained undiscovered by them for so long right at their door step. They feel the tension wash away as they follow the country roads with the impressive peak of Mt Barney guiding the way.
Drive directly onto grassed and shaded campsites with campfires, a modern amenities block, fully serviced camp grounds and curious wildlife! Caravans, camper trailers and motor homes are more than welcome.
The flexibility of being able to choose your own spot around your own camp fire is unique. Even during the busy times such as school holidays and public holidays, the number of campers is always limited to only 100 people – or about 25 tents. So you always have space around you and you still have the ‘best spot’ in the camping ground!
If you don’t have camping gear or if don’t have the time to pack it all, don’t worry! You can still enjoy the outdoor freedom and stay in one of our onsite camper trailers. Affectionately called “Glamping”, or glamorous camping, it is camping without the fuss!
Feeling energetic and adventurous? Or do you just want to laze around the campfire or creek? The choice is yours!
You can book on one of the many facilitated adventure activities such as a rock climb or abseil (on real rock faces)!
Have the kids ever REALLY explored the bush? Allow them to learn about the environment around them the fun way by joining in a Bush Kids, Lantern Making or the Kids Night Adventure activity.
Have you ever wanted to climb a mountain? Our experienced outdoor leaders can lead you on an expedition up one of the many mountains in the Mt Barney National Park, or reveal the many secrets of lesser known walking trails. The staff at the office will also share with you their local knowledge of the area and provide walking maps of popular … and off-track walking trails.
If doing nothing is your thing, there are plenty of mountain views to be had from the camp ground. The creek at the front of the campgrounds offers shady grassy banks to lay a blanket upon, or plonk your chair in the creek and cool off while the kids go and explore.
Marvel at the wildflowers, native animals and bird life around you.
Gaze at the unpolluted night sky and cook marshmallows on your camp fire.
So what are you waiting for!
