The Spotted Pardalote is a tiny bird that has beautiful white painted dots on its black head and wings. It is mostly found in eucalypt forests and woodlands but occurs in parks and gardens with well-established eucalypt canopy. The Spotted Pardalote builds nests by excavating holes in earth banks. The nest is an enlarged, lined chamber at the end of narrow tunnel. Around urban areas, the Spotted Pardalote often builds its nest in carpet rolls or garage roller doors. We have seen these little guys around the southern boundary of the property….. ask at the office for more details.
