The Scenic Rim is home to World-Heritage listed National Parks, iconic mountain peaks and literally kilometres of formed and signposted walking tracks that are open year-round to public access. This area is popular to tourists of all kinds – in fact some make it their holiday destination simply because of the quality and variety of the bushwalking.
If you are keen to get into bushwalking, but are thinking twice about it because of fitness, lack of experience or confidence, or because you don’t have a “tribe” to go with … Mt Barney Lodge has the solution … we have a series of bushwalks to get you focused and motivated. We offer three bushwalks per elevation level (i.e. 9 walks in total) and each series takes about three months to complete. Depending on your fitness level, choose from either the low, medium or high series of walks. There is also a focus topic to help you gain the knowledge and skills to become an independent bushwalker. It is recommended that you also plan a weekly walking fitness routine to improve your endurance. We’ll even send you our training template.
