Mt Greville

Mt Greville is one of the many volcanic rhyolite plugs exposed via erosion over many centuries.
Our route to the top is via the cool, green, and impressive Palm Gorge named because of the propensity of palms within the confines of the gorge walls. Brush-tailed rock wallabies are sometimes seen here. It feels like you are in another world until you pop onto the exposed shoulder just before the summit and emerge back into the normal open forest and montane heath. The view from the top is worth the effort for sure.
Descent is via the SE Ridge and at one stage as we traverse through the low shrubby montane heath where the views open up and are truly magnificent. A photographer’s heaven.
