Mountain Fit Program – High Elevation Series
8 August @ 8:00 am - 26 September @ 2:00 pm

The Scenic Rim is home to World-Heritage listed National Parks, iconic mountain peaks and literally kilometres of formed and signposted walking tracks that are open year-round to public access. This area is popular to tourists of all kinds – in fact some make it their holiday destination simply because of the quality and variety of the bushwalking. If you are keen to get into bushwalking, but are thinking twice about it because of fitness, lack of experience or confidence, or because you don’t have a ‘tribe’ to go with, Mt Barney Lodge has the solution – we are going to help you get Mountain Fit! Starting in autumn, Mt Barney Lodge is offering a Mountain Fit bushwalking series to get you focussed and motivated. Depending on your fitness level, choose from either ‘low elevation’ walks or ‘medium elevation walks’ – complete the series of three walks and be eligible to also register in the future for the harder ‘medium and/or high elevation’ walking series. It is recommended that you also plan a weekly walking fitness routine to improve your endurance. We’ll send you our training template. Over three months on a Tuesday morning, we have put together a series of graduated hikes with a focus topic to help you gain the knowledge and skills to become an independent bushwalker. Inclusions = expert guiding, bus transfers from meetup points, freshly made tea, coffee and cake on each walk.
