Blueys Favourite Campground Is Mt Barney

When Bluey goes “Camping” in Season 1 – EPISODE 43 – the shapes of the mountains are unmistakably those of Mt Barney (the most impressive-looking mountain peak in Queensland’s Scenic Rim), and Mt Maroon.

Based in Brisbane, the much-loved Australian animated series often draws inspiration from the landscapes, places and everyday experiences of Queensland. Bluey follows the adventures of a lovable & inexhaustible six-year-old puppy, who along with her sister Bingo, parents and friends is learning all about the world.

In Camping, Bluey and her family head off on a bush camping adventure, discovering the joys of the outdoors along the way. And when you look at the scenery, it's hard not to think of Mt Barney Lodge as a pretty good match!

A camping experience with a familiar view

Mt Barney Lodge is the closest campground to Mt Barney, with spectacular views of both Mt Barney and Mt Maroon right from the campground.

The entire campground has creek frontage along the Logan River, where clear water flows over smooth granite boulders that have come down from the ancient mountains.

It's a wonderful place for kids to explore, paddle and discover the natural environment.

Keep an eye out for some of the local wildlife, too. The creek is home to platypus, turtles, native fish and frogs. In the right season, you might even spot the golden Stony Creek Frog sitting on the rocks at night.

Making family camping memories at Mt Barney

Mt Barney Lodge is an Advanced Ecotourism retreat that has been welcoming visitors for more than 30 years.

Over the years, many children have had their very first camping experience here. Some have grown up, started families of their own and returned with their kids to share the same experience.

That's one of the things we love most about camping. The memories stay with you long after the tent comes down.
