To launch our event we are kicking off with a special welcome dinner to kick off the festivities, inspire you to challenge yourself over the weekend and celebrate the adventurous spirit within each of us!
The night will include speaker Michael Groom, unquestionably one of the world’s greatest big mountain climbers, who while descending from the summit of Kangchenjungahe suffered crippling frostbite and had the front third of both feet amputated. He’ll share with us his challenges and how he achieved his childhood dream and returned to the Himalayas and climbed Everest.
All these stories will be shared over a meal provided by local suppliers highlighting the flavours of the Scenic Rim.

BEGINNERS NIGHT ROCK CLIMBING
What could be better than rock climbing on a natural rock face?
Climbing at night in summer!!
This activity is the perfect introduction for beginners to the sport of rock climbing.
We will light up the rock face, and your BYO headtorch will come in handy too.
The evening under the starry night sky will include a home-cooked meal to keep all the hungry climbers satisfied.If you haven’t climbed before this will be the perfect introduction as we will be running both beginner and advanced climbs.
Times: 4.30pm-9.30pm

Gear: all rock climbing gear is provided. Bring a day pack with water, torch and jumper
