This mountain is a mini Mt Barney, and climbing Mt Maroon at 965 meters is a half-day challenge. Most of the route is untracked and follows ridge lines and steep rocky gullies. This is one of the Scenic Rims most picturesque mountains. In spring the summit showcases spectacular wildflower displays.
